A House with a Fine Tradition Our house was built around the 1640s and is hence one of the oldest within town. In the past, it was mainly inhabited by craftsmen of the Royal Factory of Arms as well as local farmers.After having been in agricultural use for many years, our hotel was granted the status of a licensed house by the Duchy of Brunswick and Lüneburg on the 17th of February,1800. Since the duchy belonged to the British royal house, the name of our hotel -"English Courtyard"- most probably derives from this historic influence. Hence, our hotel has existed within this past royal residence of the Guelphs for over two centuries. Despite several projects of modernisation, our half-timbered house has been well-preserved until today. We have been awarded with our fourths star within the German hotel classification in April 2007 and accept this challenge by welcoming you with local hospitality. The Wasmund family and their team |
